Classes with arts educator, Julie Lear, offer youth Ages 7-14 a glimpse into the artistic process by featuring a different artist every month. In July the workshop explores the work of Jean Philippe Arthur Dubuffet, a French painter best known for coining the term “Art Brut” to describe artists who were not formally trained and often worked outside mainstream culture. Participants will create colorful and “brutish” art inspired by Dubuffet’s Dogs. The class is free, but registration is required by July 10 by calling (563) 263-8282.
