Description :

In his award-winning novel, Patron Saints of Nothing, author Randy Ribay tells the story of seventeen-year-old Jay Geguero, whose quest to learn the truth about his cousin’s death in the Philippines raises essential questions about identity, truth, and our responsibility to ourselves and each other. The book invites us to reflect on the experiences and identities that make up who we are, the values and beliefs of others as reflected in group practices, and how we can ensure that all people, whatever identities they possess, are treated with dignity and respect.

As part of the Global Education Program at the Stanley Center, we invite the community to join this conversation in person at the Merrill Hotel in Muscatine from 6-8 PM on Friday, March 7.

Registration is required to attend. The event, co-organized by Muscatine Community College, the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine, and Musser Public Library, will include a moderated discussion and Q&A. Attendees can meet the author, get their book signed, and participate in table conversations.

Copies of Patron Saints of Nothing are available for loan from the Musser Public Library and for purchase from Green Point Mercantile, 214 Chestnut Street, Muscatine.
