Please join us for the January Luncheon at Musser Public Library. The catered meal from Jeff’s Market will be Salisbury steak, buttered red parsley potatoes, green beans, a roll, pumpkin pie fluff, and water. Our January charity will be Susan Clark Middle School’s production of Willy Wonka Junior which will be performed February 6-8th at the newly remodeled Central Auditorium. Dr. Eric Field (Doc), who is directing the show, will speak about the upcoming show and the Muscatine theatre community in general. Monetary donations are appreciated as the middle school theatre budget for the 2025-2026 school year has been cut in half from prior years. Look for the Family Outings event in the newsletter for the opportunity to attend the show with other MNFC members and families! Our January activity will be making Valentine’s Day boxes for the residents of Wilton Retirement Community. Please bring a RECTANGLE or SQUARE SHAPED CARDBOARD BOX (ex: Capri Sun Box, Empty Kleenex Box, Shoe Box, etc.) and any of the following for everyone to use to decorate the boxes: BLACK PERMANENT MARKERS, BOX CUTTERS, BOXED VALENTINES, CONSTRUCTION PAPER, CRAFT FOAM, CRAYONS, DOLLIES, FOAM PAINT BRUSHES, GLUE GUNS, GOODIE BAG PRIZES, GLUE STICKS, HOT GLUE STICKS, MARKERS, MODPODGE, RIBBON, RULER, SCISSORS, SCRAPEBOOK PAPER, STICKERS, TAPE, WHITE GLUE, WIGGLY EYES, WRAPPED CANDIES, X-ACTO KNIFES, etc.

At $15.00 per person which may be paid by cash or a check made out to “Newcomers”, we offer an AMAZING value for great food, great company, and great entertainment. THIS LOW PRICE IS ONLY ACHIEVABLE WITH OUR VARIOUS FUNDRAISING EFFORTS THROUGHOUT THE MEMBERSHIP YEAR!! If you have not already done so, please be prepared to pay our annual dues of $20.00 for the 2025-26 membership year.

Reservations: To attend, please RSVP Yes by 5:00pm on Friday, January 16th.

Childcare: Provided for $5.00 per child, please add a comment with the RSVP stating your child’s name and age. Please drop your children off at Wesley United Methodist Church, 400 Iowa Avenue, between 11-11:30am. Please pack a lunch for each child. PLEASE NOTE: Infants up to six months of age are welcome to accompany their mothers to the luncheon site.

Cancellations: If you need to cancel, please contact Erin by email (muscatinenewcomers@gmail.com) OR text (847-927-9027) BEFORE 8:00AM ON MONDAY, JANUARY 19TH. Any cancellations after 8:00am will need to pay for the cost of the meal. Someone may bring your payment and pick up your meal if you are unable to attend.

**Muscatine Newcomers & Friends Club holds a monthly social luncheon. It is held on the third Tuesday of the month from September through May.
