Pages for All Ages
February 2 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Reading together can unite different generations. Try it out with our Pages for All Ages program, which will get together on February 2 to discuss the book “Holes” by Louis Sachar.
This popular 1998 title centers on Stanley Yelnats, who is sent to Camp Green Lake, a correctional boot camp in a desert in Texas, after being falsely accused of theft. The plot explores the history of the area and how the actions of several characters in the past have affected Stanley’s life in the present. The interconnecting stories touch on themes such as labor, boyhood and masculinity, friendship, meaning of names, illiteracy, and racism.
Pages for All Ages meets monthly and is suggested for children 8 and older and their adult caretaker, older sibling, family member or friend. Come to our children’s desk to sign out a book. Read together, then join the group!
